Network topics: Internet, Email, Web and Filesharing

A connection to the internet is necessary to view any website or connect to any email or file server. Email servers receive and store your email and may or may not have a webmail interface like webmail.indiana.edu. File servers are for storing and exchanging files: some have web interfaces for accessing those files, some offer windows or mac filesharing, some through the older File Tranfer Protocol (FTP) or the encrypted version, Secure FTP (SFTP), or some combination of these methods.

Topics covered here include Internet Access, Email, Web pages and Web publishing, and Filesharing (moving files over the network).
